American Literature Hour!
Here is a sample of our class assignment! The American Literature Hour! You will be taking on the role of a radio reporter. Pick an American author that produced literature during the years of 1900-1970, and report on their life. This will take the place of our author research report. Please note the following:
a) This assignment fits into our unit, becasue it tis the research of an author. It will help improve your research and technology skills, as well as fufill the requirement of the author research report.
b) Please note that this will not be the only portion of the assignment. You will also be asked to submit which author you plan to cover two weeks prior to your due date. One week prior to the due date, you will submit a script of what you plan to cover. On Monday and Tuesday, we will be having Audacity training. This is important, as it will be the software you will be using. As always, I am here to help!

Quotes
I have always enjoyed fun quotes. I am starting this post to share some of out favorites from the literature that we are reading. This is by no means mandatory, however it would be interesting to see what other people post and what we can find in the texts. Feel free to post your favorite quotes here and read what your classmates have to say!

Use of the Blog
This is just a reminder to pleas use the blog for it’s intended purpose. I am saying this as a warning. I will not hesitate to take down any post or comments that I feel are offensive and do not facilitate a proper learning environment. This site is meant to be a valuable resource and should be used as such. You have all done a great job so far, and I hope that we can keep that up!

Favorite Literature
In the spirit of sharing resources, I though we could start by sharing our favorite pieces of American literature. I have several favorite pieces, so I will narrow it down. Please limit your contributions to literature that was published between the years of 1900-1960. It can include poetry, plays, fiction, ect….
Also, feel free to include any project topics and ideas about a particular work.
Let’s get reading!

From the Desk of the Librarian……
The is just a little not to remind you all that both of the American Literature classes will be holding a peer review session in the library after school this Tuesday. We will meet directly after the last bell and will stay until 6:30. We will be dividing up into groups to read papers, offer constructive criticism, and share ideas. It is not a mandatory event, but it would be helpful when it comes to writing the final draft of your paper. I look forward to seeing you all there.
